The fae world of Nightingale is rooted in the surreal concept of multiple fantasy realms. Each of these separate realms exist with its own designs, structures, and traits. However, you have a hand in choosing the traits that shape these realms. Each realm is procedurally generated and you’re able to use a mixture of realm cards at special devices throughout the world to open a portal that is generated based on the traits indicated in the cards you use. Play this card to seek a Realm of swamp and moor. Boots sinking into muck. An image known by all Realmwalkers who’ve tread the swamps. This card seems to stare at its keeper, like a creature lurking in the mire.

Play this card to seek a Realm lush with forest. The first discovered Realm was a lush forest, misleading Redcrosse Knights into believing the Faewilds were analogous to Earth’s habitats. How wrong they were.
