BAFTA Game Awardshave revealed the list of 58 games that have made the cut for the upcoming edition of the awards. Over 1,300 BAFTA members selected this comprehensive list of titles across 17 categories, including Game of the Year.

“The BAFTA Games Awards longlist is an opportunity to celebrate a wide range of exceptional games,” the organization stated. The shorter list of nominees will be announced on March 4.
Since the list is quite extensive, it includes most of the games that are circulating in awards and nominations at other events.

Shadow of the Erdtree is Not Eligible
The organization highlights that each category is judged “by experts in their field—people who understand the ambitions and challenges of creating games and possess the insight to recognize excellence in the titles they play.”
The BAFTA’s take on DLCs: “DLC is eligible as part of the consideration for Evolving Game,” althoughShadow of the Erdtreewill not be nominated, as it did not make the overall longlist. This will obviously come as a relief to many upset fans that a DLC has been nominated for The Game Awards' Game of the Year.
The BAFTA’s awards provide high credibility to any games that manage to snag a win, and many players want to see full-release games from the last year earn that title, rather than a DLC.
