How to unlock Artifacts and increase Capacity in EvilVEvil

Most systems in EvilVEvil are tied to EXP, which you earn by completing missions. You level up your character as you gain EXP, whichunlocks new weapons and Artifacts. Your Capacity also increases, which allows you to use more Artifacts simultaneously.

Artifacts function similarly to Mods in other gameslike The First Descendant and Warframe.

Artifact Cost

Each Artifact has a cost indicated by a red diamond (pictured above). The white bar at the bottom shows your maximum Capacity, and how much you’re currently using. When you reach level 50, you’ll have 70 Capacity points to play with, offering a ton of build customization.

My favorite part about the Artifact system isthere is little overlap between characters. Every character has a defined identity and playstyle and grinding for EXP is less of a slog as you’re always working toward something new.

Artifact Upgrade

How to upgrade Artifacts in EvilVEvil

Artifacts can be upgraded to increase their potency. For example, you can see Leon’s Bolstering Meal in the picture above. The Artifact is level two and grants a6% damage reduction for 4 seconds after Feeding. At level three, those values increase to 9% and 5 seconds, respectively.

You earn all upgrade currencies from random enemy dropsas you play missions. Based on my testing,Artifact costs don’t increase as you level them up, so you don’t have to worry about exceeding Capacity limits.

All Artifacts for Leon, Mashaka, and Victoria in EvilVEvil

There’s a dizzying selection of Artifacts in EvilVEvil and multiple directions you can take each character. With this in mind, let me show you how every Artifact works for each character. Remember that whilesome abilities are shared across the cast, they are often unlocked at different levels.

Best builds for every character in EvilVEvil

As you can see from the extensive lists above, you can build each character in multiple ways depending on your playstyle. I’m always an advocate for high DPS, as you have less chance of taking fatal damage if everything is dead.

The builds below assume you’ve hit level 50, so you have the maximum 70 Capacity points to play with. If you’re not quite there yet, feel free to mix and matchas best you may, and fill in the gaps with whatever you have.

Best builds for all characters in EvilVEvil: Leon, Mashaka, and Victoria

Best Leon build

Leon is a jack of all trades and can be built for almost anything. I’m not a fan of his Slam, as it can clip on scenery and is a hassle to aim. With this in mind,We’re building into the Hook abilityand focusing on weapon DPS and survivability.

Your perfect Leon build will likely be different if you can tame his Slam, but this is a powerful Weapon and Hook setup. Meat Hook augments the Hook ability tohit more targets. Death From Above grants bonus damage for hovering kills, and we can improve those even further with Just One Second.

Healthshot and Smoothie are oursurvivability Artifacts, which grant Leon impressive sustain. Finally, as we use our guns often, Scavenger helps with our ammo reserves.

Best Mashaka build

Mashaka has several unique skills focused on burning opponents and inflicting damage over time (DoT). We lean into these exclusive traits to maximize our damage output.

We’ve got some expensive Artifacts in this build for Mashaka.Wizard, Sparky, and Pyro all improve our ability Damage.

Rhesus Differentis exclusive to Mashaka and makes enemies explode when you feed on them. Ideally, we want to feed in crowded areas, so I’ve gone withPotent Blood to increase our Health pool. Finally, we’re rockingBlood Reloadas a quality-of-life perk.

Best Victoria build

Victoria has plenty of stylish Artifacts to choose from, like Excellence, which rewards her for airborne headshots. We focus heavily on Victoria’s Slash Dashto cut foes into ribbons, no matter how big they are.

Excellence is superb for reducing Victoria’s cooldowns. We rockKingslayerfor crazy melee damage against bosses and gain lifesteal withVampiric Blade.

Charge increases the range of our Slash Dash, and Fulfilling Snack makes the ability even more lethal after Feeding.I wanted to use Warriorin this build, as it increases our melee damage even more, but it’s too expensive. With this in mind,we’re using Samurai insteadfor faster melee attacks.

Loot goblin build

As a bonus, Victoria is unique, as she’s the only character with abilities specifically for farming materials.Killing takes a back seat in this build, but it’s a small price to pay for swimming in loot:

We useRecycling, Headhunter, and Dusted to earn additional lootof every type in the game. Since we’re not interested in maximizing DPS, I’ve gone with Grinder to increase EXP gains. You canswap Grinder for something like Blade Furyif Victoria is already at level 50.

Telekinesesis a cheap Artifact, but vacuums loot from an extended range. Finally,Excellenceis effective in reducing our cooldowns.

If you’re struggling to find a match online or would rather experiment on your own, there are ways to do both. It may be best to play by yourself if you’re rocking the EXP farming build so you’re not rushing your team.
