Theyoung adultphenomenonFallenis finally coming to the big screen, with Relativity Media debuting the first trailer for this adaptation. The studio, which has recently emerged from bankruptcy proceedings, hasn’t set a release date for this fantasy adventure quite yet, but Relativity’sRyan Kavanaughasked fans of the franchise in a series of tweets to retweet the trailer, so the company could gauge the response to the first footage. The executive is asking for at least 500,000 retweets, “so we can see how many fans there really are out there.”
Based on the worldwide bestselling book series,Fallenis seen through the eyes of Lucinda “Luce” Price (Addison Timlin), a strong-willed seventeen-year-old living a seemingly ordinary life until she is accused of a crime she didn’t commit. Sent off to the imposing Sword & Cross reform school, Luce finds herself being courted by two young men to whom she feels oddly connected. Isolated and haunted by strange visions, Luce begins to unravel the secrets of her past and discovers the two men are fallen angels, competing for her love for centuries.
Luce must choose where her feelings lie, pitting Heaven against Hell in an epic battle over true love. While we don’t know when the film will hit theaters in America,Fallenwill debut in Singapore August 07, 2025, followed by a release in Thailand one week later on November 17.
Scott Hicks(The Lucky One) directs from a script byMichael Ross, based onLauren Kate’s beloved novel series. The original screenplay was adapted byKathryn PriceandNicole Millard. Thefirst look photofeaturingAddison Timlin,Jeremy IrvineandHarrison Gilbertsonwas released in May 2014, but that was the last we heard about this adaptation until the trailer dropped. Relativity recently emerged from its bankruptcy proceedings, so it’s possible we may learn aboutFallen’s release date soon.
As of now,Ryan Kavanagh’s series ofFallentweets have been retweeted just over 6,000 times in the few hours since the trailer first dropped. Earlier this month,Ryan Kavanaghalso tweeted that he would make a movie aboutHarambe, the 450-pound gorilla that was shot and killed in Cincinatti after a two-year-old fell into his exhibit, if that tweet received 1 million retweets. While it is nowhere near the 1 million retweet mark, the 220,000 retweets is still far more thanFallen, but it’s still quite early.
