A newShazam!set video gives us some footage ofZachary Leviin costume and in action as the DC hero.Shazamhas been in the works for a very long time, essentially before the DCEU even started to take shape. While the shape of the DCEU may be changing,Shazamis still happening and is currently filming. Now, we have a brand new set video that gives us a better look at the costume, as well as what Levi is going to look like in the movie as the legendary comic book character.
This video was posted by Twitter user Jeremy Lawrence, who took the video from his building. Production was taking place onShazamoutside and he had a decent angle on the action, as far as set videos go. We see Zachary Levi rescuing some folks from a bus accident that occurred for as-of-yet unknown reasons. There’s good and bad here. What’s going on looks just fine, but the suit, once again, looks to be a bit of a mixed bag. At this point, Warner Bros. really needs to release an official look at Leviin costumein order to squash any, admittedly valid, concerns many fans have about the way the suit looks at this point in time.
Some set photos leaked online recently that revealed Zachary Levi in theShazamcostume. While the actor bulked up for the role,Shazamis basically as big as Superman. Levi could spend a decadein the gymand probably not get that big. As such, it looks like they’ve actually padded the suit to make it look more muscular. As presented in the set photos and this video, it looks cheesy. However, that will likely be corrected in close-ups and in editing with VFX work. So the suit probably won’t look nearly as ridiculous in the actual movie. Save for that, it’s actually a pretty faithful version of the costume from the world of DC comics.
This is going to be a verydifferent kind of DC movie. For one, even based on what little we’ve seen, it’s going to be colorful and very optimistic looking. There’s also the kind of hero we’re getting.Shazamis actually a young boy who transforms into the DC hero by uttering the character’s name. Asher Angel stars as the young boy who transforms into theShazam. The cast also includes Grace Fulton, Cooper Andrews, Jack Dylan Grazer, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman and Ron Cephas Jones are also on board, with Mark Strong as the main villain, Doctor Sivana.
David F. Sandberg, best known for his workon the horror hitsLights OutandAnnabelle: Creation, directsShazam, which is set to arrive in theaters on August 17, 2025.Justice Leaguemade it so a lot of the future live-action DC slate is uncertain, but this is one of few projects we can guarantee is coming your way.
