The first map update will be coming to Genshin Impact with version 1.2. which adds the region of Dragonspine plus two new playable characters.
Genshin Impact Update 1.2. Adds Dragonspine and Two Playable Characters
The update forGenshin Impactv.1.2. called “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon” will be releasing onDecember 23rdfor PC, Android, iOS, Playstation 4 and via backwards compatibility Playstation 5. With it comes a whole new region to explore called Dragonspine.
This major update will add a new map expansion, a new immersive adventure to embark upon, complete with new creatures, mysteries, treasures and further danger, which happen in the frozen realm of Dragonspine. It will be located in the south ofMondstadt, which will be full of rare artifacts, and recipes for 4-star weapons to be acquired. This region adds it’s own challenge with the Sheer Cold bar, meaning keeping warm will play it’s role in player survival.
There is also a new seasonal eventThe Chalk Prince and The Dragon, which will take place in Dragonspine. Meet Albedo the genius Chief Alchemist and the Captain of the Investigation Team of Mondstadt’s Knight of Favonius, to carry out an investigation of a sword that holds some mysterious power called the Festering Desire. Taking part in the event, players will not only have a chance to fully refine the Festering Desire, but also redeem rich rewards from the event shop including Crown of Insight.
Two new five starcharacterswill be added to the game, Albedo and Ganyu, they will both be featured in the upcoming questline. Ganyu is a half human, half adepti, a Cyro archer who serves as an emissary and secretary for the Liyue Qixing. Albedo is an alchemist, although young, has become quite the master of alchemy. There is also a personal side-quest so you can get to know Ganyu’s story even further.

Genshin Impactis currently available to play on PC, iOS, Android, PS4 and PS5. Update 1.2. will be released on December 23rd.
