No matter how many projects Zack Snyder makes, one regret fans would always have is the massively missed opportunity and potential that the DC Extended Universe held. His world-building was extraordinary and the superheroes he brought to life were not limited to the imagination. From Henry Cavill’s Superman to Ben Affleck’s Batman; each and every character held depth in their own optimal manner.

He managed to bring together the entire Justice League, something fans had been yearning for a very long time. Unfortunately, those remain to be dreams and nothing more. Fans may never get to see just what the director had envisioned. However, bits and pieces of the same still remain. The last of what the director established has also passed, leaving room for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe. Although, Snyder had some rather interesting plans.

Ezra Miller in and as The Flash

The Flash‘s Misfortune Could Have Been Avoided By Zack Snyder

The fate ofThe Flashcould easily be compared to a tragedy. From the constant delays to the controversies surrounding Ezra Miller, things weren’t anyways looking that bright for the film. However, James Gunn along with various members of the DC Universe, gathered to promote the movie, many even calling it one of the best superhero movies to exist. Unfortunately, none of it prepared the franchise for the epic flop that it turned out to be. Ironically enough,Zack Snyderhad plans for the entireFlashtrilogy, something that could have eventually saved the franchise as well.

“Originally, there was supposed to be just Zack’s five films and one side movie, which ended up being Suicide Squad.”Jay Olivia added, “Rick’s movie was going to be a series of films, just like Aquaman. I think all of those films, they were planning to be trilogies.”

The original plans of the movie included the entire trilogy narrating a story that eventually led up to the Flashpoint Paradox, something fans always have a soft spot for. Unlike now, Miller’s series would have been of core importance within the franchise. This idea was scrapped immediately afterMan of Steel’ssuccess; making Warner Bros. Discovery go all in without a properly constructed plan of action.

The FlashCould Have Had A Surprise Villain

Zoom is one of Flash’s most formidable foes. He has not only gone against the Speedster on numerous occasions, but their personal chemistry is remarkable on another level. Zack Snyder wanted to bring that onto the big screen. His plan was to reveal Professor Zoom as the big bad, driven by his hatred for Barry Allen. However, it was not something he could pull off.

“It was Professor Zoom pulling the strings because he had come from the future to basically f*ck with Barry. In the Flash movies, Zoom would be the villain in the background. But also in the ancillary other films, you would see some of the influences of Zoom on the rest of the Justice League.”

He had even kept a security backup with the Flashpoint Paradox, turning everything upside down. This would not only have made room for older actors to be free from their contracts, but it would also provide an opportunity to cast newer actors. It would have been a fresh start at a perfect time.
