At the time of writing, Marvel Rivals isn’t among thegames confirmed to be availableupon Nintendo Switch 2’s launch.

Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu has since addressed the matter in anIGNinterview at the 2025 DICE Summit in February.

When asked about a possible Switch 2 release, Wu told the publication that NetEase has been in talks with Nintendo. “We’re already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. And whenever we find that we could provide great performance for our game on Switch 2, we’re open to that,” he said.

The producer further explained that the reason Marvel Rivals didn’t hit Switch is because the hardware wouldn’t “provide a great experience for our gameplay.” If Switch 2 can do as much, Wu maintains the team is “open” to porting it over.

Leaker and insider PHBrazil has previouslydescribedthe Nintendo Switch 2 as: “Powerful enough that basically every third party is considering supporting it with its most ambitious AAA titles,” before going on to mention that this is “very different” from the past.

Given thesize of the existing player base, it’d only make sense for NetEase to release the game on Switch 2 later down the line to gain more profit.

Still, regardless of the platform, many players hope the devs will soon addcross-progressionto allow players to swap between devices seamlessly.
