Modern Warfare 3 players want divisive skin banned from ranked play
Modern Warfare 3players have called for one of the skins in the game to be banned, specifically in ranked play, as it’s so hard to see.
The selection of Operator cosmetic bundles are never-ending in Call of Duty these days, with skins available to add to your Armory from the Store, the Battle Pass, Blackcell, and just from completing challenges.

As a result, some of them draw more debate and conversation than others. For example, many players dislike the animal-themed or bright-colored skins that they claim ruins the immersion of the game.
Others are so powerful that players call them “pay-to-win,” for example the Gaia (or ‘Groot’) skin that was recently removed from the game to tweak and make it more fair.

This one, though, isn’t a new skin, and has been somewhat divisive since its release, with the Io MW2 Season 4 Blackcell skin drawing derision on either side of the argument.
MW3 players want Io skin removed?
Whilethe skin itself has previously been called “pay-to-lose,”there are clear situations where the Io Blackcell skin is at a vast advantage — as exacerbated in this clip from MW3 playerqwertymnbvcxzlk.
If not for turning at the right time, the player would have been none the wiser that an opponent was defusing the bomb, due to the skin turning chrome and looking almost translucent while doing so.

This inspired much debate in the comments about how Ranked play should handle cosmetics, with many agreeing that they feel the skin selection should be limited, or players given default skins, in the competitive mode.
Obviously some players disagreed, stating that they could “clearly see” the guy on the bomb, while others debated the merit of having these skins “like Fortnite” in the game at all.
