Today, Capcom held the Street Fighter 6 Showcase as it dove deeper into what to expect with the game that launches on June 2. This also includes the Year 1 DLC roadmap and the fact that the demo is available today for PlayStation. Steam and Xbox will be available on April 26 for the demo. A new location in World Tour named Nayshall was revealed. This is described as a developing nation in a remote area of Asia. New RPG elements were introduced as players can consume items and food during battle or at eateries to regain Vitality. The Avatar will be the center of attention of World Tour as players create, customize and level up a Skill Tree to completely build their character.
The Avatar will become a student of the Masters in the game and this includes al 18 launch characters. Players will enroll in their style to learn the special moves from each Master. The Battle Hub allows players to join custom Avatar Battles online. Imagine combining a Dragon Punch with Dhalsim’s fighting style. This is possible with the Avatar in this mode. There will be tutorials and character guides to help newcomers and veterans. Innovative sound design includes cues to sense the distance of an opponent, the height of attacks and more. Lastly, a new control scheme being added on to Classic and Modern is Dynamic. Auto-Attack will allow to pull off special moves with AI assistance for attacks and combos.

The different modes in the game were detailed and it begins with the classic Arcade Mode. This single-player traditional mode will have players complete the game with each character as each one tells a story. Scores can be uploaded to online leaderboards and illustrations are rewarded once beaten. Players can also form a team of up to five characters and customize the matches such as single elimination, double elimination and teams. Extreme Battle provides specific rules that includes the likes of running bulls or hot potato. Lastly, Custom Rooms allow for four virtual cabinets to be set to one on one, Extreme Battle or Training. These allow up to 16 players along with match spectating and online training. Lastly, Ranked Matches will offer a one-time Rank-down protection for those in Diamond rank and below. Iron-Gold and Master rank players will not incur League demotions. Each character will actually have their own rank, rather than just the player.
Visuals changes were also introduced in the showcase as Battle Damage will show characters get sweaty, develop cuts and bruises, and more deterioration. This is only available in certain offline modes and can be disabled if desired. To finish off, Year 1 DLC was announced with four new characters. Rashid (SFV) will return this Summer along with Ed joining in Winter. A.K.I. will join the roster this Fall and Akuma will join in Spring 2024.
