It’s one of the titles featured during the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience—set for 2025—but we still don’t know exactlywhen Metroid Prime 4: Beyondwill hit current Nintendo consoles. And that’s despite the Japanese company repeatedly confirming it’s comingthis very year.

Many were expecting Nintendo to announce the release date during a Nintendo Direct—but hopes quickly faded once it was revealed the presentation would focus on third-party titles (you’re able to check the full summary here).

Some believe Retro Studios' shooter will get itsown dedicated showcase, similar to what happened withMario Kart World,Donkey Kong Bananza, and even the latestPokémon Presents.

The real question iswhen. The game has already received anage rating in South Korea, which usually means the launch isn’t far off.

Now,Nintendo has broken the silence around Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. First, byreconfirming it’s coming to both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 this year, though once again—no exact date. And second, by confirming it’ll beplayable soon at another event.

“Fan Expo will feature upcoming games like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (available later in 2025),” states Nintendo’s announcement regarding their attendance atFan Expo Canada.

Metroid Prime 4 Will Be Playable at Fan Expo Canada 2025

Through its official website,Nintendo of Canada confirmed its presence at Fan Expo Canada 2025, a major event in Toronto dedicated to games, tech, and pop culture. The company also revealed some of the activities taking place.

Among current-gen games, attendees will be able to tryMario Kart WorldandDonkey Kong Bananza, both coming to Switch 2—but what stands out is thatMetroid Prime 4 will be there too.

“Nintendo of Canada invites you to visit Fan Expo Canada in Toronto, Ontario, to check out the latest (and upcoming) games for the Nintendo Switch™ 2”, reads the official statement.

Those who stop by Nintendo’s booth will get to try outSamus Aran’s new adventure, a game that’s still set for 2025—though listed as arriving “later” in the year.

Other playable titles at the event will includeStreet Fighter 6 Years 1–2 Fighters Edition(available now),Borderlands 4(October 3), and evenHades IIandElden Ring: Tarnished Edition, both of which still don’t have confirmed dates.

There’s not much more to say for now, butNintendo’s 2025 roadmap is slowly taking shape.
