Oblivion Remastered New Update Launches First on Steam Beta
There’s no doubt thatOblivion Remasteredis one of the most successful games of the year onPC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.Most players have returned to Cyrodiil with great joy, and it’s even the second best-selling game of 2025 in the U.S., behind onlyMonster Hunter Wilds.
Still, it’s clear thatBethesda and Virtuoshave work to do to fix bugs and improve performance across all platforms.
Patch 1.1 fixed several launch bugs but also introduced new issues. It was first released in Steam’s beta client, then rolled out to all platforms.
Bethesda is following the same approach withpatch 1.2, now available for download in Steam’s beta. This time, it includes more than just bug fixes — players can expect difficulty balancing and performance enhancements as well.
“In update 1.2, we focused on fixes related to quests, gameplay, and performance. We’ve also added several damage scaling adjustments to let you better tailor your game experience. While 1.2 isn’t yet available on other platforms, it’s playable now on our Steam beta.”
If you ownOblivion Remasteredon Steam, you’re able to now try version 1.2. Console and Microsoft Store users will have to wait a few more days.

Now live in Steam’s beta branch. To access it, go to the game’s properties in your Steam Library and select the beta version.

New difficulty options now let players fine-tune “Player Combat Damage” and “Enemy Combat Damage.”
Players can now choose from:Novice,Apprentice,Adept,Official,Expert, andMaster. The newJourneymansetting is intended to bridge the gap betweenAdeptandExpert.
