S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobylis an ambitiously large open world game that takes place within a post-apocalyptic Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. When a second nuclear explosion struck the area in 2006, the Zone sprung up all manner of mutated creatures, horrible radition, and an anomalous energy. The mutated creatures aren’t the only thing to fear, however. There are also bounty hunters, looking for treasure within the area and looking for the Zone’s darkest secrets.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl: Hardest Bosses, Ranked
While S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 lacks a clear division between boss battles and regular fights, there are encounters more brutal than the rest.
You play as a staler named Skif, who finds themselves in Chernobul between a power struggle of factions. Your decisions truly matter in the game and affect the outcomes of the people that live in this treacherous wasteland. The game has over three hours of scripted cutscenes, and GSC Game World says that “no two journeys through the Zones will be the same.” While the game itself isn’t pretty to look at, art wise, the game supports Unreal Engine 5, allowing the developer to make a huge world such as this with the photogrammetry technology that GSC has in its hands.

A Decent Critical Response
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl had a decent critical response from outlets when it released on November 20 last year. Our 5/5 reviewwas absolutely glowing (in radiation).
The game was 30% off during the Steam Summer Sale. Hopefully, another sale arrives soon if you’re able to run this game on your PC. Themodsmight be worth it.

“Stalker 2is nothing short of a miracle,” it said. “Developed by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World over the course of seven years amid a pandemic and a war – among many other challenges –Stalker 2is a labor of love and the best type of sequel one could hope for.” It was received well by our sister site,GameRant, as well. It seems to be somewhat of a hidden gem if you’re able to get past its technical issues, which have likely been at least somewhat fixed since its launch more than half a year ago.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is currently available on PC and Xbox Series X|S. You can check out the game through Xbox Game Pass. If you’ve already played the sequel, you can also check out the recently enhanced Legend of the Zone trilogy (Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat).
