As a weapon, Sanguine Rose is a staff that’s enchanted with a spell you can cast 10 times before it needs to be recharged. When you hit a target with that spell, it summons a planar being to attack the target. Unfortunately, thatbeing will attack you next if it kills the initial target, so be careful when choosing your targets.
How to Complete Sanguine’s Quest
Before anything else, you need at least two pieces of jewelry and a bottle of Cyrodilic Brandy. Your easiest option is to get a bottle of Cyrodilic Brandy bypurchasing it from The Gilded Carafe or The Main Ingredientin the Imperial City Market District. This will cost you about150 gold, but it’s faster than trying tosteal it, picking it up as a drop, or buying it from the Lonely Suitor Lodge in Bravil.
Next, head to the Shrine of Sanguine, which ison a hill to the northwest of Skingrad. Offer the brandy to the statue, and you’ll get a quest that wants you to cast Stark Reality on the Countess of Leyawiin. Since she’s having a party, the real request is to hit every guest with Stark Reality.
Now, it’s time to equip at least two pieces of jewelry and head to Castle Leyawiin. Take a right and find the guard blocking the door to the dinner party and speak with him. As long as you have your jewelry on, he should let you into the party when youselect “Dinner Party” as a dialogue choice. To complete the quest, you want to aim Stark Reality at the table to hit all the guests seated there. This will lead to the guards arresting you, and it’s easier to just accept the jail time instead of fighting back, because you won’t have any of your belongings on you at this point, thanks to the spell you just cast.
This completes the quest, so your next objective is to return to the shrine and get Sanguine Rose. you’re able to also pick up the belongings you lost to the spell by looting the chest across from the shrine, meaning you won’t actually lose any items permanently from this quest in Oblivion Remastered.
