In the filmThe Devil Wears Prada, Meryl Streep is a ruthless boss who expects nothing but the best from her assistant, played by Anne Hathway. The role demanded the Oscar winner to tap into her demanding and mean side which she did with great success. Her co-starAnne Hathawayspoke of Streep’s brilliant method acting which resulted in her giving the cold shoulder toThe Internstar throughout the filming, to remain in character.
“When I met her she gave me a huge hug. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, we are going to have the best time on this movie.’ And then she’s like, ‘Ah sweetie, that’s the last time I’m nice to you”.
Hathaway went on to add that Streep continued this vein of behavior throughout the filming of the movie and turned into her normal self only during the film’s promotions. While this was a pretty difficult working relationship for Hathaway, the end result was evident for all to see.

The Devil Wears Pradagave actor Anne Hathaway the opportunity to rub shoulders with Hollywood royalty Meryl Streep. The star who played the role of Streep’s assistant in the film gushed about her co-star and her achievements over the decades.
“Knowing her as I do know, as a person, she’s absolutely delightful. I couldn’t say enough nice things about her. She’s really extraordinary and not to become too gushy, but as a woman, she has absolutely done everything I want to and everything I hope to accomplish. She has done it better than anyone,”
Hathaway also confessed that she felt she never quite belonged onThe Devil Wears Pradaset as the level of expectation with Meryl Streep on board was extremely high. The star ultimately countered her doubts and insecurities by not attempting to reach Streep’s level of expertise but by working on her own performance and being the best she could be without inviting comparisons to the veteran actor.
