Homelander’s decision to confront his past head-onmeans a major change could be coming for his character as season 4 progresses. He’s currently formulating aplan with Sister Sageto increase the chances that Victoria gets into the White House, ensuring the country is run by a Supe with their interests in mind. However, he believes his more caring side is also holding him back, keeping him from unlocking his true potential. By confronting his past, he hopes to better prepare himself for the future, destroying any humanity he may possess.
If Homelander is successful at becoming even more apathetic toward his actions, it could lead to him becoming even more of a direct threat to the world.His obsession with public perception and his own perfection is a barrierkeeping him from destroying those who disagree with him. If that wall gets knocked down, then he could become incredibly dangerous, as he’ll no longer care about being viewed as a hero or a villain. With how much support he has from the public, such a turn might even benefit his plans more in the long run.
