The First Berserker: Khazan, the action RPG with a comic-style aesthetic set in theDungeon & Fighteruniverse, was showcased at the South Korean G-Star event, just months ahead of its release onPC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
The First Berserker: Khazan New Gameplay
After drawing attention with its first gameplay presentation at The Game Awards 2023,The First Berserker: Khazanis building anticipation, even among Western audiences unfamiliar with the Dungeon & Fighter universe in which it’s set.
Weeks after the release of its impressive cinematic introduction, developer Neople and publisher Nexon have published two extensive gameplay videos, which you can view in this news piece.
The first of these videos shows the starting area of this soulslike action RPG. Mount Heinmach is a snow-swept location filled with soldiers to fight, levels to gain, and, of course, a boss to defeat.
Boss Fight Gameplay
Although not as formidable as the one featured in the second video—focused entirely on the battle against Volbaino, one of the bosses that attendees of G-Star 2024, the gaming event in Busan, South Korea (held from November 14 to 17), will get to experience—the first boss encounter provides an exciting introduction.
Having also made an appearance atGamescom 2024andTokyo Game Show 2024,Khazanhad a closed beta test at the end of October. There’s no announcement for another test as of now, although it’s not uncommon for companies to make demo versions available to the public after showcasing them at consumer-oriented gaming events.
Though the game is set in theDungeon & Fighter Onlineuniverse, prior knowledge of the Asian hit isn’t necessary to enjoy it, as this action RPG serves as a kind of prequel.
According to its Steam page, it “tells the story of Ozma and Khazan.” Players will take on the role of Khazan, the ancestor of all assassins, who defeated the berserk dragon Hismar and uncovered the truth behind its fall within the empire.
The First Berserker: Khazanwill be available in early 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
