The Manor inClair Obscur: Expedition 33is one of the bigger mysteries. While the Paintress and the Nevron monsters are certainly the core mysteries, you will stumble across random doors across the world that will lead you back to one specific location: The Manor.
This rather large mansion is beyond space and time, and you first encounter it a couple of hours into the story while looking for Maelle. You not only find her in her, but a spooky human-like figure that has been teaching her various new skills to protect herself against the horrifying threats of the world.

Puzzles are plentiful in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and The Manor holds many of them.
When you first arrive at The Manor, you’ll realize that the vast majority of doors are inaccessible. In most games, they’re just there for décor, but in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, they hold a much larger purpose. Specifically, the doors you find across the world will lead you into those doors, and they’re unlocked from the other side.
Some of them hold simple rooms that have aesthetics or random items in them, while others are more puzzle-oriented. There’s no rhyme or reason to why some are more intricate than others, but they all circle back to one another in the end.
The Kitchen
While the first puzzle was accessible as soon as the party entered The Manor for the very first time, the Kitchen is locked away from view. To gain access to the Kitchen, you will need to move through the story where you come across the Gestral Village. This is around the five to six-hour mark in the story where you’re tasked with participating in the Arena, so coming across this door is relatively early on.
When you enter the village, continue up the hill until you reach the village itself. At this point, take a right and continue through the path, past the green and pink colored Gestrals. You’ll eventually come across a sign that says “Turn Back”. Do the opposite and continue up the small hill until you reach a door and a Gestral guarding it. Thankfully, he’s not there to cause any problems and let you through without any worry.
Through this door you will find the kitchen area, which you’re able to immediately unlock the door behind you to gain access to the core of The Manor. This is located on the first floor near the entrance of the Manor itself. Head back in, though, as there’s a puzzle to solve.
Your objective is to interact with a number of items to access a hidden area in the room. The first happens to be pretty close to when you enter. Look to the immediate right and you’ll notice a somewhat out of place bust that is missing her face. Interact with this and the room will begin to shake, opening something up.
Next, head to the table on the left (closest to the locked door in the back) where there are some pots and pans on the ground in front of it. There will be what looks like two candle holders next to one another. Interact with the small one and it will rotate.
The final item that needs to be interacted with is on the wall close to the first item (the faceless bust). Head to that side of the room and look at the tabletop with some rather large pie on it. There will be three pots hanging on the wall, with the middle one that can be flipped upside down.
After interacting with all three items, a small hole will appear to the left of where you came in. This is somewhat hidden among the many boxes and barrels around it. Hop down and there will be an unfortunate Gestral with a little cake on its stomach. There is also the single largest ham I’ve ever seen to the side of the Gestral.
Hop through the hole to the left of the Gestral to come across another room. In the back, inside a box, will be aShape of Energythat can upgrade yourEnergy Tint. To the right of this, there will be boxes that can be broken, revealing a small hole in the wall you can crawl through. Here, to the immediate right, are more boxes that can be destroyed to give you a newhairstylefor Maelle.
Up the staircase from here is a dead end (with another door later in the story that can be accessed), and up the other flight of stairs in the previous room leading back to the locked door in the kitchen.
