Whether you’re taking advantage of theElectrajailbreak for iOS 11 or theChimerajailbreak for iOS 12, one thing is certain: you’ve got theSileopackage manager hiding out somewhere on your Home Screen. The same statement applies for those using the Chimera1n or Odysseyra1n bootstraps on the popularcheckra1njailbreak for iOS 12 & 13.
Regardless of which of the aforementioned setups you’re running on your pwned handset, it’s worth noting that the Sileo Team launched an updated beta version of the Sileo package manager Thursday afternoon with some serious speed improvements. The latest beta wasannouncedvia the Sileo Team’s official Twitter account just over an hour ago:

From what we can gather, the latest Sileo beta has been dubbed version 1.8.4 beta 1. The biggest change in this update appears to be the speed at which the app’s Get button works, which in this case appears to be somewhere between 7 and 15 times faster than the previous beta depending on a couple of highly subjective variables. Those variables are, of course, the number ofrepositoriesadded, and the number of packages installed.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Sileo’s Get button lets users download and install third-party packages just as the App Store app’s Get button lets users download and install Apple-approved apps.

Thisisn’t the first timethe Sileo Team tweaked the Get button’s speed, and it’s unlikely to be the last. Virtually all speed improvements are welcomed regardless of the context, especially when it involves a process that jailbreakers use a lot, such as installingjailbreak tweaksin this case.
If you’re not already testing the Sileo beta, then this update won’t appear as a necessary upgrade upon refreshing your sources. The Sileo beta is on an entirely different release channel than the public version of Sileo that comes pre-installed with your Electra Team-brandedjailbreak. That said, you can actually run the beta and the public release side-by-side on the same device to see witness the differences first-hand.
It should be noted for those new to jailbreaking that if you’re using theunc0verjailbreak or you’re using the checkra1n jailbreak without the Chimera1n or Odysseyra1n bootstraps, then this update won’t apply to you, nor will any other news regarding Sileo.
