Wuthering Waves Reception
Before the game even launched, Wuthering Waves received over 30 million pre-registrations in over 100 regions, according to our sister siteGameRant.
Critics don’t seem to be as impressed, however. It has a decent 73 Top Critic Average on OpenCritic with 67% of outlets recommending the free-to-play RPG.

“I am absolutely enraptured by some of the characters, with the majority of them being exceedingly well-voiced,” said an article fromTheGamer. “Their combat is fun and uniquely challenging.”
Many have found competitor Genshin Impact’s combat a bit dull as it’s repetitive and has a basic battle system. “While the story may be the weak link, the combat mechanics definitely make up for it,” said TheGamer. “Seeking out fights doesn’t feel tedious and, instead, feels delightful.”
