Xiaomi’s flagship smartphones always deliver the goods, we were impressed by the photography-focused13-serieswhen it launched earlier this year, and now, the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro have launched in China.
As usual, though, those in Europe likely still have to wait - and if you’re holding on for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, then you’ll be waiting even longer. Still, there’s plenty to get excited about, as we now have an official look at the handsets before they make their global debut. Let’s take a closer look.

Xiaomi 13 Pro
If you can’t wait to get your hands on a top-tier Xiaomi device. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is still one of the best handsets around.
Xiaomi 14 release date and price
The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro launched in China on 31 July 2025. Over there, they’re up for pre-order now, though there has been no mention of a date for general sale.
If the last few generations are anything to go by, we’ll be waiting a while before they arrive in Europe. TheXiaomi 12and 13 series both made their European debut around the same time asMWCin March 2022 and 2023, respectively.

None of the Xiaomi 13 series phones were made available in the United States, and we’re not expecting that to change with the 14 series. Xiaomi fans in the States will likely still have to resort to importing if they want to get their hands on the latest Xiaomi handsets.
We don’t have global pricing just yet, but Xiaomi has announced its pricing for the Chinese market, and we’ve added approximate USD / GBP / EUR conversions.

Xiaomi 14 Pro
However, as we’ve learned many times before, Chinese pricing doesn’t translate exactly to the global market. In Europe, you can expect to pay significantly more, and it’s more likely that the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro will match the pricing of the 13 series.
If that’s the case, the Xiaomi 14 will start at £850 / €999 and the Xiaomi 14 Pro will go for £1099 / €1299 in Europe.

Design and display
The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro carry a similar design to their predecessors, though the camera array is definitely a little larger this time around. Both phones have a boxyiPhone-like design with flat edges, though there’s a subtle radius on all four edges of each phone’s front and rear.
It’s a slight departure from the previous models, where theXiaomi 13 Prowas much curvier than theXiaomi 13. Now, both appear to have similar geometry. There’s still a pretty significant difference in size between the two models, with the Xiaomi 14 sporting a 6.36-inch display and the Xiaomi 14 Pro measuring in at 6.73 inches.
Both models boast similar display specifications, and are able to output a whopping 3000nits at peak brightness, making them some of the brightest smartphone displays to date. With the Xiaomi 14, you get a resolution of 2670 x 1200 and on the larger Xiaomi 14 Pro, it’s 3200 x 1440.
Both use OLED panels with adaptable refresh rates of up to120Hzand touch sampling rates up to 240Hz. This means that they’ll both look buttery smooth when swiping around, and will be efficient when displaying static imagery.
When it comes to colour options, the standard Xiaomi 14 is available in four colours: Jade Green, Black, White, and Snow Mountain Pink. The Xiaomi 14 Pro is available also available in four colours: Black, Silver, Jade Green and Titanium.
Hardware and specs
Both phones run on Qualcomm’s brand-newSnapdragon 8 Gen 3chipset, and early indications suggest that this means they’ll be some of the fastest smartphones on the market. If you like graphically intensive gaming, hardcore multitasking or video editing on the go, you’ll have no issues with these smartphones.
Each phone will be available with up to 16GB of RAM, though the smaller Xiaomi 14 has a lower base spec of 8GB. Storage options range from 256GB all the way up to 1TB on both models.
The Xiaomi 14 has a 4610mAh battery, while the 14 Pro has 4880mAh. In real terms though, you’ll likely see a similar battery life on both phones, due to the differences in screen size. Where you’re more likely to notice a difference is in the charging time, as you get 90W charging on the Xiaomi 14, and 120W on the 14 Pro. Still, they’re both extremely fast, and they both support 50W wireless charging, too.
Just as we saw with the 13 series, the cameras are a definite highlight of these smartphones. Both models feature a triple-camera array on the rear with each sensor capturing 50MP stills. The lenses are 14mm, 23mm and 75mm equivalent on both devices
Interestingly, there’s no 1-inch sensor option this time around, with both phones offering a smaller 1/1.3-inch sensor on their main camera. This is because they’re using a brand-new sensor, dubbed the Hunter 900, which is said to be able to capture more light without needing the physical size. In addition, the aperture has been opened up to f/1.6 on the Xiaomi 14 and f/1.4 on the 14 Pro, so you shouldn’t lose out on any of that lovelybokeh, either.
Where the Xiaomi 14 Pro stands out is that it offers an adjustable aperture, which can change incrementally from f/1.4 to f/4.0, allowing the user to have more control over the depth of field, or the shutter speed, depending on their needs.
It’s a big upgrade over even the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which could switch between f/1.9 and f/4.0, as this time you can adjust the aperture in increments, rather than choosing one or the other.
