James Gunn is Reportedly Not Involved WithI Am GrootSeason 2
Last year, Marvel released aGuardians of the Galaxyanimated show following the baby Groot in a series of shorts. The series was received very well by the audience and critics, who described it as“a delightful Marvel superhero kids snack.”
The second season ofI Am Grootis set to premiere on Disney+ in September this year.James Gunn, known for making Marvel’s galactic superheroes a household name, was associated with its first season as a producer. However, the official production brief of the second season does not include the DC Studios co-CEO.

It would reportedly make it the firstGuardiansof the Galaxyproject that is moving ahead with James Gunn’s involvement. As the news got out, fans have alleged that him being distanced from the series would hardly affect the MCU.

As it is claimed that James Gunn will not be associated with the upcoming animated series featuringGuardians of the Galaxy’sGroot, fans do not seem too worried about his departure. They claimed thatI Am Grootis basically a kids’ show and would hardly affect the ongoing stories in the MCU, and the studio would not needThe SuicideSquad director for that.

I doubt Gunn was all that involved in the first season. He just got an executive producer credit because he was still with Marvel at that point. Now he’s switched sides so there’s no way they were going to keep giving him credit.

Some fans also claimed that the director was probably not involved so much with its first season and was credited as a producer in season 1 only because he was still working under Marvel Studios. Some fans also stated that it is obvious that Gunn is now working on DCU and would be required to leave Marvel Studios.
